Join us for a day-long conference on how to plan, conduct and present
oral history projects, and a chance to learn how others use words,
voices and images to capture and convey the experiences of individuals
and their communities.
Featuring keynote addresses by Dave Isay, founder and president of
StoryCorps and Mary Childers, author of Welfare Brat, the conference
includes 16 workshop sessions on a range of topics including technology,
project planning, effective interview techniques, working with at-risk
communities, empowering individuals through personal memoir, and more.
Participating organizations include The Institute for Community
Research, Mi Casa Family Service and Educational Center, Vermont
Folklife Center, Mattatuck Museum, the Connecticut Veteran’s History
Project and the University of Connecticut Oral History Office.
